Korean Performing Arts Institute of Chicago (KPAC) posted its first Rhythm Connections video!
Rhythm Connections is the KPAC’s annual project showcasing KPAC Artists' collaborations and new works. This year, KPAC is presenting Rhythm Connections as a virtual series.
First is the Hill with the Tree (나무가 있는 언덕), featuring Woosung Jung on the modified danso, Woosik Son on guitar, and Eunsun Jung on gayageum.

Chloe Kim is the first women to win back-to-back gold medals in halfpipe. Chloe Kim won her first Gold Medal at the PyeongChang Olympics. Her first win was especially emotional because Chloe Kim is a first generation Korean American.

The GKF is proud to support Korean American artist Julia Riew. Julia created a Disney-inspired Korean princess because " There was no Korean Disney princess so I decided to make my own." Julia Riew created a musical called "Shimcheong: A Folktale" based on her own personal search for belonging and identity as a Korean American.
House Passes Bill To Close Citizenship Loophole For Intercountry Adoptees
A legal loophole in the 2000 Child Citizenship Act did not grant U.S. citizenship to tens of thousands of intercountry adoptees. These adoptees were vulnerable to denial of various benefits such as medical benefits, education assistance, employment, and financial aid. In extreme cases, adoptees faced deportation to their country of origin.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the COMPETES Act with an amendment that closes the adoptee citizenship loophole. This legislation will impact more than 20,000 Korean American adoptees.

St. Louis Restaurants Unite to Boost 'Very Asian' Campaign
Fourteen local restaurants have banded together to raise money for the Very Asian Foundation. KSDK news anchor Michelle Li founded the Very Asian Foundation after receiving a racist voicemail following a news segment.
St Louisans can support the Very Asian Foundation by dining at any of the fourteen restaurants on February 7 through February 14.
