August 15th is the National Liberation Day of Korea. It commemorates Victory over Japan Day, which liberated Korea from Japanese rule. President Harry S. Truman played an important role in Korea’s liberation from Japan in 1945, as well as in the Korean War between North Korea and South Korea from 1950 to 1953. The August webinar gives an opportunity for people to learn more about President Truman, a Missouri native, and his ties with Korean Liberation and the Korean War.
